16th Annual Frederick Festival of the Arts,
06/13/2009
It has been incredibly busy and hectic these last few weeks and we apologize for not posting anything new recently. As crazy as it has been we have enjoyed it. The upcoming week looks to be even more hectic so stop back around June 21 or 22 and we WILL have some recent images posted along with expanded news.
For now I can tell you that the 16th Annual Frederick Festival of the Arts held on June 6th & 7th was a rousing success - large crowds, beautiful weather, great entertainment and good food. All of this and a beautiful creekside setting to boot. We will be posting some images from the 2 days of the Festival as soon as we get caught up on everything else - probably on or after June 21
The Frederick Arts Council hosted two events on June 6th, a silent auction to benefit the Frederick Arts Council and the opening reception for the Frederick County Art Association (FCAA) member’s show in the Cultural Arts Center Gallery at 15 N. Market Street in the downtown area. Many of the FCAA artists / members were on hand to discuss their work and over 60 original works were on exhibit for viewing or purchase.
Frederick’s First Saturday event for June coincided with the Festival of the Arts and the result was one of the largest crowds I’ve seen downtown in years. This monthly event just keeps getting bigger and better! Always held on the 1st Saturday of the month we can’t recommend it enough! If you happen to be in the Frederick area on a 1st Saturday or live in the general region and are looking for something to do that is both diversified and a lot of fun then you owe it to yourself to check out this event.
