Catching Up...
Looks like there might be a few minutes to take a breath so here’s an update on events and happenings around Frederick, MD.
As we mentioned in a previous post the 2009 Frederick Festival of the Arts enjoyed great weather along with large crowds who spent the weekend viewing and purchasing the unique original works created by artists from around the region and around the country. An added bonus for visitors to our town was the opportunity to enjoy great food and some of the best entertainment to be found in the region all while enjoying the beauty of the Carroll Creek Promenade.

Nationally known master guitarist and Frederick resident Bobby Flurie and Friends put on a great show as always. Additional entertainment was provided by a diverse group of outstanding acts including Country Current (the U.S. Navy Band) featuring singer Kenny Ray Horton, local favorites The Jug Band, the great D.C. area Blues singer / guitarist Cathy Ponton King, The U.S. Army band known as The Jazz Ambassadors Dixieland Ensemble, local musicians The Yardslippers, along with numerous other great acts.

This is the last week to visit the Frederick County Art Association’s member exhibit on display at the Cultural Arts Center gallery located at 15 N. Market Street in downtown Frederick, MD. Stop in and enjoy the variety of artwork created by the many talented local artists. Almost all pieces on display are for sale so don’t hesitate to purchase your favorite!
